Belgium (9-12 Sept’05)
This fair is being organised by TradeLink Company
UK at Brussels in Belgium. This is one of
the well established fair exclusively for
home textiles which attracts more buyers .
This fair is being organised simultaneously
with DECOSIT (a well known fair for upholstery
materials) in which Indian companies are not
allowed. Council has been participating in
this event since 2001.
Comfortex Trade Fair, Leipzig, Germany
(10-12 Sept’05 )
Comfortex is one of the important fairs in Germany
for the Home Textiles segment organized by
Leiziger Messe GmbH (Leipzig Fair). This is
one of the oldest fair for the interior furnishings
and Decorations
Heimtextil India, Mumbai (10-13,
October 2005 )
This International Home Fabrics and Accessories
Fair provides exhibitors and visitors from
all over the world a complete business net
working platform in one of the world’s fastest
developing markets. The Heimtextil brand has
been serving the industry for over 30 years
internationally and is synonymous with high
quality. Council has been participating in
this event every year. This event is organized
by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt.
Ltd., and gaining popularity every year.
Indian Handicrafts & Gift Fair (Autumn-2005),
New Delhi (October ‘05)
The Indian Handicrafts
& Gifts Fair (Autumn) is being organised
by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts.
Last year they have organized the first event
of Autumn Fair by making a special pavilion
for Home Textiles. The participants of the
Council found the event to be quite rewarding.
Out of the total number of 1075 visitors,
577 foreign buyers, 270 buying agents and
228 other business visitors had visited. Buyers
from all major importing countries like USA,
UK Portugal, France, Italy, Australia, Sweden,
Israel, etc. had visited the above fair. Spot
orders for over Rs.4.5crores were booked by
the last year participants. Council is participating
in this event for the second time.
International Apparel, Textiles, Footwear
& Machinery Trade Exhibition Cape Town,
South Africa (16-18 November’05)
The event is organised
by Ite South Africa . The event is the largest
dedicated import trade exhibiton in Sub- Saharan
Africa for the clothing , clothing textile
, home & Interior Textile , footwear ,
fashion accessories & machinery industries
featuring more than 180 manufacturers &
Suppliers from over 13 countries .
Lat year 5 exporters participated
in this fair through the Council. 125 visitors
visited the stalls of these 5 handloom exporters.
Spot orders
BSM – Chile (Santiago) (November–
‘05)
Chile is one of the most potential importers of
Indian textiles as it has a sizeable high
end segment. At present, the export of Indian
handloom textiles to Chile is over Rs.11.00
Crores and it can be increased further if
the promotional measures are intensified.
Lat year, 10 member exporters participated
in the event organised by the Council in coordination
with Embassy Of India, Santiago and the programme
had a good response. Each participant had
10 – 15 buyers visit to their stalls and the
products were liked by the Chileans. Overall
Rs.4 crore worth of enquiries were generated
during the 2 days of BSM in Santiago. The
event is organised under Focus LAC programme
Heimtextil Fair, Frankfurt, Germany
(11-14, January’06)
Heimtextil is one of
the biggest international trade fair for Home
Textiles and commercially used textiles. It
is being organised by the Messe Frankfurt
and marketed by Messee Frankfurt Trade Fairs
India P.Ltd. Mumbai. This fair attracts the
buyers from more than 70 countries covering
all the continents. This fair presents the
global trend forecast for the coming years
and it is a trendsetter for the forthcoming
season. It is very useful to exporters especially
upcoming companies to establish new business
contacts and develop new export leads. Council
is regularly taking part in this event
Domotex, Hannover, Germany
(14-17, January’06)
This fair is one of the leading International
fairs on carpets and floor coverings and it
is organised by Carpet Export Promotion Council.
Domotex is really quite unique. As the world’s
No.1 trade show for carpets and floor coverings,
it serves as an annual summit meeting for
market leaders from all over the world. Major
suppliers from all sectors of the trade provide
an extensive overview of the world market.
Domotex is more than a showcase of modern
products. Over the years it has become an
important force encouraging the development
of business in the international home and
commercial property markets. Exhibitors find
that the excellent trade show infrastructure
and the ideal business setting are the ticket
to success. Some 60% of the visitors come
from abroad. Council is participating in this
event for the third time with 10 member exporters
Tex-Styles India, New Delhi
(Feb/Mar’06)
The Tex-Styles India Fair is being organised by
ITPO since 1994. It is Country’s premier international
fair for cotton handloom fabrics and made-up
items. Tex-styles India has established itself
as the largest fair of Indian textiles held
anywhere in the world and its global recognition
has placed it on the world map of reputed
textiles shows. This is one of the important
international fair which show causes the entire
strength of Indian Textiles. Since this event
is gaining popularity and attracting more
number of buyers as it is coinciding with
the Handicrafts Fair in New Delhi. . HEPC
is taking part every year and in the 12th
edition of Tex-Styles India fair Council is
participating with 40 member exporters

BSM - Malaysia (March
2006)
Malaysia is a fast emerging
economy in Asia and is one of the leading
countries in the ASEAN Region. Among ASEAN
countries, Malaysia is having the highest
potential for importing madeups. The country
has an open economy with significant degree
of stability. Malaysia has transformed itself
in the last two decades from a producer of
raw materials into a full fledged multi sector
economy, ready to absorb new technologies
and products. The countries with its healthy
foreign exchange reserves and relatively small
external debt provides succor to the exporting
community. The economy of Malaysia is on the
upswing and its trade relations with ASEAN
and other countries of South East Asia are
rapidly increasing. India is the largest trading
partner of Malaysia in the South East Asian
Region. India’s exports to Malaysia have shown
a healthy increase from US$ 481.30 million
during 1998 to US$ 772.42 million s during
2001. Textiles is one of the major items of
Indian Export . Within textiles cotton handloom
export to Malaysia increased from Rs.19.26
Crores during 2001-02 to Rs.22.17 Crores during
2002-2003. Particularly export of Handloom
Made-ups increased from 4.37 crores to 9.54
crores.
Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishing Show,
USA (13-17, January' 2006).
USA is the largest market for the textiles
in the world. It is roughly importing about
25% of the Indian handlooms exported. The
growth of exporting also quite significant
and the market is fast expanding. USA being
the main market, Council feels it strategically
important to organize Fair in USA so that
the Indian exporters can take part in this
and establish new contacts. |
