All
India Monin Ansar Welfare Society - AIMAWS |
|
HISTORY
|
|
The
All India Momin Ansar Welfare Society (AIMAWS)
is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations
in the country. It was founded in 1990, at a meeting
held in Faizabad and convened at the initiative of
the Mr. Dr. Mohammed Seraj ANSARI. The newly established
organization adopted the name "All India Momin
Ansar Welfare Society (AIMAWS)". It established
its headquarters in Faizabad and later it has been
shifted to Lucknow, U.P. For many years, and throughout
15 years , the AIMAWS represented and promoted the
interests of the Monin Ansar and Weavers as well as
down trodden community of the country. |
|
Now
in 2004, the AIMAWS has decided to represent
textiles, handicrafts and handlooms industries to
boost foreign exports from all the country, for that
purposes, the AIMAWS has created and established Indian
Textiles And Handicrafts Exports promition Orgnaization
(ITHEPO) with aims to represent the society and
worker, weavers, persons, businesses involved in the
exports and industries. At the same time, vertical
integration in textile enterprises changed the structure
of the industry and broadened its scope: it has today
become a multi-process industry. |
|
In
1997, the AIMAWS's headquarters were moved
from Faizabad U.P. , to Lucknow U.P. for the purpose
of facilitating national and international contacts
and improving administrative services and communications.
|
|
As
of 2004, the AIMAWS's membership has expanded
significantly and today embraces the major part of
the districts and state's textiles, handicrafts and
handlooms production. It thus reflects the process
of nationalization which has taken place in textiles,
handicrafts and handlooms manufacturing since the
decades. Not only has the location of national textiles,
handicrafts and handlooms industrial capacities undergone
far-reaching changes, the readjustment process has
also affected the structure of trade associations
in the industry. Their former fragmentation is gradually
giving way to a more concentrated and integrated framework
of representation. |
|
In
response to these developments the AIMAWS in
2004 created new sub-orgnaization "Indian Textiles
& Handicrafts Exports Promotion Organization (Ithepo)".
On the basis of its present structure and scope, the
Aimaws is qualified to represent the broadest possible
segment of the national's textiles, handicrafts and
handlooms exports industries. |
